On October 24, 2019, Ruberto, Israel & Weiner sponsored a conference hosted by the National Institute for Coastal & Harbor Infrastructure (NICHI) in Boston. More than 160 attendees gathered to learn more about the impact of sea level rise and storm surge on the City of Boston and other communities surrounding the Boston Harbor.
RIW Shareholder Christopher R. Agostino spoke at the conference, discussing how coastal flooding concerns are affecting real estate transactions in Boston and surrounding communities. NICHI’s mission is to spread awareness regarding the need for feasible storm surge sea gates in the Boston Harbor, known as the “Layered Defense” approach, to protect coastal real estate surrounding the City of Boston. RIW is a member of NICHI, and has proudly sponsored events to spread awareness about these critical issues affecting Boston Harbor coastal communities. If you would like to learn more about NICHI or how sea level rise is affecting real estate in and around Greater Boston, please contact Christopher Agostino at cra@riw.com.
