Overview

John (Jack) E. Murray is a member of the firm’s Banking, Finance, & Lending Department and Corporate Restructuring & Distressed Assets Group. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency issues, as well as other corporate matters.

Jack advises clients on a wide range of bankruptcy, insolvency, and distressed situations.  Jack regularly represents creditors and debtors in Chapter 11 reorganizations, Chapter 7 liquidations, bidders and purchasers in Section 363 Bankruptcy sales, and parties in interest in out-of-court restructurings.  He also has extensive experience representing creditors in consumer Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases.  Above all, his focus is finding creative solutions for clients who are in difficult situations. 

Prior to joining Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, Jack was an associate in the business restructuring groups at international law firms in both Boston and New York, and clerked for the Honorable Ann M. Nevins of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut and the Honorable Marie E. Lihotz of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.

Jack is also an active member of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Boston Bar Association.
